in-factory photograph shows more clearly the mechanism of the
Ferranti Tapchanger (tap changer). The precision engineering
of the components that go together to make up the tap change
unit must meet the original specifications not only the specified
and tested materials but the machining tolerances. Clearly visible
are the spur gears and the drive gear in the rear compartment.
The Ferranti gaskets, the drive motor, the reduction mechanism,
the plunger board, the printed circuit board, the Geneva mechanism
